Hi Guys

Last weekend saw the first Stampin' Up! retreat held by myself and Janet (a very good friend and fellow SU! Demonstrator) in the sunny climes of North Yorkshire.

We had a lovely mix of crafters come and join us for the weekend and some day delegates joined us on the Saturday for a lot of fun and laughter.

Here is the motley crew at the end of the weekend

and here are some of the projects that we made over the weekend.  We made a couple of handbags one of which came from my good friend Victoria and we covered jars and notebooks amongst other things over the weekend.

but over all a good time was had by all and you can tell that by the me that was made

Well we have decided that we are going to do it all again next year and I hope we will have you join us next time.

Until next time

Hi Guys

Well I just want to say thank you for all of your kind thoughts and well wishes with regard to my recent operation.

As some of you know I have been waiting for ages to have a gastric bypass done and finally I have had it done.  After my op I was quite poorly and quite weak but I am getting back on top of things and getting there slowly.

Once again thank you for all of your kind thoughts and you will see some crafting projects here soon.

Until next time

Apologies

Hi guys

Emma has asked me to post for her and apologise for her not posting in the last few weeks.  She has had a major operation and is feeling not very well at all.  All her classes have had to be cancelled as well so she is doing no crafting at the moment.  However, hopefully she will be feeling better soon and will be up to crafting again.  Again sorry to all her followers for the lack of posts.

Thank you for your patience,

Louise ( Emma's mum)

Fly away Butterfly

Hi Guys

I have seen this project in several places across the net, I think the first place was on Fiona Duthies blog and have wanted to have ago at it for ages.

Finding the right canvas and voila here it is

I stuck to one colour family (subtles) and used baja breeze, perfect plum, regal rose, pretty in pink, so saffron and certainly celery with a smattering of pearls.  I used a mix of butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies die and Beautiful Wings embosslit from the main catalogue.

I hope you like and until next time

The first birthday card of the month

Hi Guys

a little late posting this as the birthday in question was on the 1st March but hey ho they got their card on time.

I have used the Easter Blossoms stamp set and added basic Rhinestones to give it some bling.  For the greeting I have used the hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes for the greeting.

Long time no see...

Hi Guys

well I am sorry for my absence but my mojo went on holiday.

Monday saw my regular class and this week we did some stamping on candles.

To do this you need to do the following

1.  Take some tissue paper cream or white works on the cream candles I used, I used white.
2.  Colour your stamp and then stamp onto the tissue paper
3.  Cut around the image as close to the image as you can
4.  Place your image on your candle, use some snail to hold it in position if you need to
5.  Using some wax paper/greaseproof paper, wrap it around your image on your candle and keep taut
6.  Heat with your heat gun until you see your tissue paper 'melt' into your candle
7.  Before taking your greaseproof paper off, smooth your hand over the image to ensure it is as      smooth as possible
8.  If giving as a gift wrap in cellophane and tie with a ribbon and pretty up

To do the one below you stamp your image using versamark and add embossing powder, shake off excess.  Heat with heat gun.  Now continue from number 3 above and finish your candle.

I hope you like and until next time

A little something...

Hi Guys

not a crafty post as such but on a forum that I frequent called In Love With Stamping
a lovely lady called Elaine (Sassystamper) posted this and how true it is

Papercrafting Rules of Acquisition – Rules to Live By

1. You want it, therefore you need it.

2. You need it, therefore you must buy it.

3. All other things you need including food, car insurance, and lunch money are incidental in comparison to what you need for Papercrafting.

4. “You can’t take it with you” applies only to money. Begin getting your loved ones accustomed to the fact that you intend to be buried with your scrapbooks.

5. If you think there is a ghost of a chance that you might use it in a future project, buy it now, because if you need it later, there won’t be a substitute.

6. A Papercrafter must purchase appropriate storage containers, shelves, bins, units, etc. all for scrapbook-related purchases.

7. A Papercrafter has the right and responsibility to discard all previously purchased storage systems in order to purchase a new more appropriate system at any time.

8. Papercrafting is an inexpensive hobby. This can be proved by applying “Blondes Logic” to your purchases. For example, no hobby where the supplies usually cost under £100.00 can possibly be as expensive as big-ticket male hobbies such as restoring vintage cars, radio controlled planes etc. This just makes sense.

9. Papercrafting actually saves money. Papercrafting promotes do-it-yourself philosophy. By applying “Blondes Logic”, you can conclude you can’t afford not to papercraft.

10. Papercrafting makes you happy. If you are happy, then the home is happy.

There you have it it's like the 10 commanments of Papercrafting. Now to inscribe this onto some Chipboard, embellish, make pretty and teach it to those that have not yet taken the path to Papercrafting!

I hope you enjoy and will carry forth this mantra and don't forget to go over and visit ILWS to get inspiration.

Until next time, happy crafting

Pennant Builder Punch

Hi Guys

Well Saturday saw the first all day class of 2012 and we based it on using the Pennant Builder punch and what you can do with it.

I have used inspiration from around the internet for some of my cards.  As you can see the punch can be used for lots of different styles and we made sure we put it to good use.  We had a great day and lots of fun was had.

I think my favourite projects are the Harlequin and Kite cards.

My next class will be in March and we will be using the Cupcake Builder punch.  If you want to come then email me to let me know and I will book you on the class.

I hope you like and until next time

Something a bit different

Hi Guys

Well I have been sewing again this week and have made a cover for my sewing machine and a hot water bottle cover.

I will take a piccy of my sewing machine cover tomorrow but for today you can see my hotwater bottle cover.

I have used fabric from the Flirtatious range and some Wide stripe Grosgrain Melon Mambo ribbon with a button from my stash to embellish it.

I hope you like and until next time
